What does it mean when people say "Let a man be a man"? What exactly is the meaning behind that and what does it have to do with what women do?

It means that, if a man does something unacceptable, you should tolerate it so long as he's acting stereotypical. It's sort of like "let boys be boys," which is a line lazy educators use to avoid having to deal with problem children. All in all, these are pretty stupid aphorisms.
hi! IMO that means that you should let them be as they are naturally ,for example they are some Gross , you can't say them that don't be like that cus it's their nature
It means that they are stereotyping in the sense that they are assuming that all men act a certain way. I have no idea why a person would say this. I wouldn't say "let a woman be a woman" because, quite frankly, there is no specific way in which all women act. The same goes for men.
it means men are tired of being emasculated. in this politically correct society we are now stuck in, it's being dictated that when a man acts like a man, there's something wrong with him. women don't understand that men are not "faulty females". we are men. our minds are wired differently than women's. we have different interests and different traits than women. when we were boys, we liked playing with toy guns and army stuff because it's masculine. we didn't like playing dress up or with dolls because it's feminine. when we were preteens or young teens, we played sports and had wrestling matches because it's masculine. we didn't fiddle with our hair or experiment with make up or nail polish because it's feminine. when a woman says "i can't believe how gross his apartment is" is the same thing as a man saying " i can't believe she never checks her oil or tire pressure." get it?
Women have this innate desire to change men. They find a man who's about 80% of what they want. And they think If I could just tweak a few things about him, he would be perfect. This never works. Men have no desire to change women. We know it's futile. Plus we are just too dam lazy to put in the effort.
