at what age to males kittens testicles descend? and at what age can they start to mate?

I just got two new kittens and we are having a hard time trying to figure out their gender because they are still very scared and wont let anyone near them. I thought I read somewhere that usually the males testicles will descend by 4 months of age. What age can they mate? I believe that I have a male and female brother and sister. Will cats breed with family? Thanks so much!

1. Most male kittens' testicles are descended before birth. They can and will mate with family and may begin sexually maturing as early as 4 months, so please get them fixed as soon as possible. Kittens as young as 8 weeks old can be safely altered if they are healthy and weigh over 2lbs so there is no excuse for letting them get old enough to interbreed.
2. Kittens have been known to breed as young as 4 months old. Male or female should be neutered/spayed by 3-4 months old. And YES they will mate if they are not separated before you get them fixed.
3. i wouldnt do in family breeding. it can lead to mental illness and deformities
