Men, For Example…

At what age do most men start shaving daily?

I'm 17 and have just made the decision to start shaving every day. What age are most guys when they start shaving every day? Also, I have dry, rough skin on my face now. Is this normal? Do men just have rougher skin than women and should I get used to it or do something about it?

  1. I started at 16-17 but wish I had waited... shaving everyday gets old real quick
  2. depends on your family traits. If the other men in your family tend to grow facial hair faster. the men in my family tend to be slower. Also using an electric razor would help prevent the rough dry skin.
  3. daily?, you don't shave daily unless you are a fast-grower otherwise it is like a weekly thing or a twice weekly if you like to look sharp all the time ;) short stubble wouldn't hurt though , esp if it looks good on you
  4. Well i started shaving at the age 17 and my hair keeps coming out everyday but what i saw in the internet they say its better from the age 18
  5. I started shaving daily every day at 15 out of necessity. I was in JROTC in high school and the males were required to shave. Joined the real military afterwards and had to do it then. Now that I'm out I still shave, but have a great goatee going.
  6. 16 to 17 is about normal it rather depends on when you started puberty and how quick you went through it, how ever if you don't actually need to shave every day don't feel you have to. As for dry rough skin, try shaving in the evening not the morning, or at least give it over half an hour before you go out in the fresh air.don't bother with after shave, it dries the skin out. Shave with the direction of growth not against it, that's from the top down, do not run the razor up your neck from the chest to the chin regardless of what you see in adverts and films. this just pulls the hair follicle up and gets nicked with the razor. Unless you have dirt on your face avoid using soap a wet face cloth and shaving foam are cleanser enough, with a once a week exfoliating scrub. Do not do the exfoliating scrub at the same time as shaving. Do it either on a day you do not shave or at the opposite end of the day to when you do shave.
  7. You've got a great age to start the main thing is to have the right products. The biggest problem when shaving is the red bumps and irritation caused by not getting a true close shave and the hair follicles clog and this can be very painful. I had so many problems now I use a truly incredible product and can shave daily no more bumps. http://www.beeroyalproducts.com/store/product.php?productid=431&cat=27&page=1 Its well worth it...
